The Japanese word for CRISIS.  We're in a perfect storm of crises where environmental, economic, social and political emergencies are converging.  Amidst this, we were invited to 'give hope' to a Latin audience at the 24th Annual International Teamwork Conference, Mexico. (as we say in NZ... 'yeah, right"...good luck.)  Our goal was to: Build COURAGE to work INTER-DEPENDENTLY with HOPE for a SUSTAINBLE, healthy planet.  We easily linked this to Tanglewood and a key to our success: inter-dependence.  Fortunately, one of the very few who understand and reflect inter-dependent behaviour was our team of builders. Our major lesson: Inter-dependence must first be a mind-set for success; the build industry has an opportunity NOW to embed this belief in the way they behave and work.  If missed, our grandchildren will suffer and ask us why we did not respond to our crises.

Below the 4 Elements, a few slides highlighting our keynote messages and a short excerpt about how Covid19 masks are an example of inter-dependence.

We defined inter-dependence as a mindset: My success depends on your successMi éxito depende de tu éxito (Spanish);
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini
(Maori proverb from Paterangi of Ngati Kahungunu.) My success should not be bestowed onto me alone, as it was not individual success but success of a collective.

The above mind-set is the trimtab to shift our families, teams, communities, organisations toward working inter-dependently for a shared success.

COVID-19 masks reflect that My success depends on your success, my health depends on your health.  (see video below)

Big picture future possibilities: Our success depends on Nature's success.  BUT...
Nature's success does NOT depend on our success. SO...
What are we going to do about it?
